As part of the Group’s continued commitment to support initiatives to reduce carbon emissions and encourage the use of energy efficient appliances in the commercial sector, Aga Foodservice is offering its assistance to businesses in applying for Carbon Trust Interest Free Energy Efficiency Loans.

Bar Zigfrid, one of London’s coolest bars on trendy Hoxton Square, is one of the first hospitality businesses to benefit from this scheme.  The open plan, bistro-style kitchen has just replaced old style gas guzzling and energy inefficient equipment with a new suite of equipment from Aga Foodservice Equipment.  Using an Interest Free Loan from the Carbon Trust of £23,000, Bar Zigfrid is set to achieve energy savings on prime cooking equipment of over £5,000 per year.

Through ground-breaking initiatives such as the Falcon Infinity Fryer and Williams CoolSmart control technology, Aga Foodservice has developed a leading edge understanding of energy efficiency in the commercial kitchen.  Its publication ‘Bringing Back of House to Front of Mind’ published earlier this year, clearly illustrates how commercial kitchens can slash fuel bills and carbon emissions by updating equipment.

Commenting on the Loan and the installation, Paul Daly owner and director of Bar Zigfrid says: “Energy bills have gone through the roof so making an investment that will payback dividends on an on-going basis makes great sense - and Aga Foodservice have ensured that the process has been completed smoothly.”
