Aga Foodservice Group now wholly owns the Chinese based production unit of its refrigeration operation, Williams. After 7 years successfully developing a presence with local partners in Hong Kong and China, serving both local and international markets, the Group has acquired the holdings of the minority shareholders as a prelude to expansion of the facility which currently produces 500 units a month. The business is ISO and HACCP accredited and employs 115 people. Turnover in 2004 was £3 million.
The business is based in Qing Xi, Guang Dong Province, has sales and service support from Hong Kong and has representative offices in Shanghai and Beijing.
Tim Smith, Managing Director of Falcon/Williams said, “We have a strong team in China and are keen to grow there, increasing output and making it a mainstream production unit for us. We are also establishing a procurement team sourcing for the Aga Foodservice Group as a whole.”
