Aga Foodservice has acquired ‘Stellar Steam’, a US product line of commercial boilerless food steamers for $2.1 million. Annual turnover is approximately $2.3 million. Its patented steam efficiency technology will provide Aga with a presence in the commercial steamer market with the opportunity to move, additionally, into the domestic steam cooking market. The acquisition is of the technology and the sales organisation. Production will be integrated into the existing Victory Refrigeration facility in New Jersey and development will be in conjunction with the Group’s cooking technology centre at Falcon in Scotland.
Iain Whyte, President of Aga Foodservice Inc said, “Steaming is a technology we wished to add to our foodservice capabilities as we focus in on efficient and healthy cooking and food preservation techniques.”
