On Thursday, 29th May 2002 Digby Jones, Director General of the CBI, re-opened the refurbished Fired Earth Interiors` Fulham Road flagship store.
Digby Jones speaking at the event said: "Aga is a truly iconic British brand. It has grown both as a manufacturer and as a retailer. It conjures up a host of images of the sort of things we love about our country. Having recently been appointed to the board of `Visit Britain`, I want to see us using more of our flagship brands in order to promote strong clear messages about Britain: quality, value-added manufacturing, innovation and brand excellence. The links being forged between Aga and Fired Earth Interiors represent the sort of close partnerships which can create critical mass in market places both in the UK and overseas."
William McGrath, Chief Executive of Aga Foodservice Group added: "In acquiring Fired Earth Interiors in July 2001, we saw tremendous opportunities for linking the Fired Earth and Aga customer bases. Interiors and the home represent a growing section of consumer spend.
